The Kodiak Brown Bear is no common Grizzly. It is the only Brown Bear to reach 1500 lb and above.
Both Bears average around the 1500 lb mark.
The build is different. See if you guys can dig up some good info on each.

The polar bear on average is slightly larger than the kodiak but polar bears lack the shoulder hump of muscle that kodiaks have. That hump is the foundation of the bone shattering swipe. Polar bears are powerful but Kodiaks got the edge in power. So i go with the Kodiak.

If you check the posts far enough back on the AFO boards you can read a response made by "grizzzz". He is Jeff, the bear expert off of the Tiger vs. Grizzly show. He says the Kodiak/Grizzly would win. The Kodiak is more heavily built up front and has a larger head.

This is the same thing as lion vs tiger, kodiak may be slightly smaller but its very aggressive and it fights often. The kodiak has bigger claws, I think and it has more shoulder muscles. I go with the kodiak
